Fall Break Travels - Missouri

After an overnight in St. Louis, we continued our journey, stopping for lunch at Yankee Peddlers Country Tea Room at Osage Beach in the heart of the Lake of the Ozarks. This tea room is not an English tea room and does not serve afternoon tea. They are open for lunch with nice selection of soups, salads, sandwiches, desserts and teas on their menu. This tea room is located inside a fun gift shop.
The third photo is a porch swing hanging in one of the three dining rooms. It holds a giant teapot and lots of other decorations.
I had their Sal-Wich Combo for lunch with a small "Go-Nuts" house salad and a half chicken salad sandwich. I also had a mug of one of the soups of the day, cream of asparagus. The Go Nuts Salad, according to the menu, is a house specialty since 1971 had grated cheeses, chopped peanuts, crunch sunflower seeds, fresh mushrooms, cucumbers and sweet green peas on a blend of lettuces. The small salad was a very generous portion. Topped with poppy seed dressing, it was delicious! Too bad we didn't have room for dessert, because they had a nice selection of homemade desserts.

Hi Linda, we went to Osage Beach last year for a week with our village friends Sherry and Joe and had lunch at Yankee Peddlers Tea room. Our husbands didn't want to go but We all enjoyed it. They said it wasn't so bad.The best part was that beautiful super market they had in town. We went in that store every day we were there.
