Welcome to Friendship Tea, a blog about the daily happenings in the life of Linda, a tea enthusiast, who enjoys travel and trip planning, and is passionate about family, friends, life in Kentucky, and all things TEA.
National Reading Week was celebrated at the elementary school last week with various activities. Friday was "costume day" where the students and staff dressed as book characters. There were many princesses, Harry Potter's, Fancy Nancy's, Things # 1 & 2 and others. But, I saw only one King Bidgood from the cute children's book, "King Bidgood's in the Bathtub." It is a story about a king who would not get out of the bathtub and had many exciting adventures while there including a battle, lunch with the queen, fishing and more. Therefore, the reason for the bath towel as part of the costume. I concluded if an 8 year old boy was to wear a bath towel to school, I was sending the darkest colored one I could find in the linen closet!

A Cup of Tea
When the world is all at odds And the mind is all at sea Then cease the useless tedium And brew a cup of tea. There is magic in its' fragrance, There is solace in its' taste; And then laden moments vanish Somehow into space. And the world becomes a lovely thing! There's beauty as you'll see; All because you briefly stopped To brew a cup of tea. ~ Source unknown
