Welcome to Friendship Tea, a blog about the daily happenings in the life of Linda, a tea enthusiast, who enjoys travel and trip planning, and is passionate about family, friends, life in Kentucky, and all things TEA.
Our first Cotswold cream tea was in the Cream Tea Room in Stow on May 31. This tea room was new to us as it has been open about one year. I was impressed by the selection of loose leaf teas. As we continued traveling around the Cotswolds and Devon, I discovered several tea rooms had added loose leaf teas and several coffee choices to their menus since our last visit in 2004. This tea room was very typical of many local small tea rooms with the husband and wife being the only employees. In this case, the husband did food preparation while the wife was the server and hostess. often it was the other way around with the wife in the kitchen and the husband taking care of the service.
A ride on the scenic Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway, a day trip to Builth Wells, Wales, shopping and ice cream in Broadway and a walk on the Malverns were just a few of our adventures during our week in the Cotswolds. Others included a visit to Moreton-in-Marsh, Winchcombe, Snowshill, the Slaughters, Bourton -on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and the Shakespeare Centre and birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon. With over 700 photos and many pages of notes, I can't possibly show or tell it all in the limited space here!
When the world is all at odds And the mind is all at sea Then cease the useless tedium And brew a cup of tea. There is magic in its' fragrance, There is solace in its' taste; And then laden moments vanish Somehow into space. And the world becomes a lovely thing! There's beauty as you'll see; All because you briefly stopped To brew a cup of tea. ~ Source unknown
