Welcome to Friendship Tea, a blog about the daily happenings in the life of Linda, a tea enthusiast, who enjoys travel and trip planning, and is passionate about family, friends, life in Kentucky, and all things TEA.
The Berea Health Ministry raised $5800 from the tea. Thank you to Cora and the Berea Health Ministry Board of Trustees for the beautiful fall flower arrangement. I look forward to working with you on the 2009 fundraiser tea.
The winning table at Tea Time with the Berea Health Ministry was "Tea Time to Remember" sponsored by Davis and Powell Funeral Directors and hosted by Patty D. She used an elegant mix of antique and family heirloom china and table linens to decorate her table. Her centerpiece was a gilt tree branch in a pearl filled crystal vase on and gold and white background that incorporated a photo from each table guest of departed family members (hanging from the branches). This was surrounded by battery operated candles in gold votive cups which each guest lighted as she told a story about her featured family member. (We did not allow real candles to be burned).
Patty received a Longaberger oval market basket full of tea goodies I provided. Congratulations Patty!
I appreciate the table judges, Teresa, Thana, Belle, Carol and Melissa for the work they put into judging the table themes. I am just glad I was not a judge!

A Cup of Tea
When the world is all at odds And the mind is all at sea Then cease the useless tedium And brew a cup of tea. There is magic in its' fragrance, There is solace in its' taste; And then laden moments vanish Somehow into space. And the world becomes a lovely thing! There's beauty as you'll see; All because you briefly stopped To brew a cup of tea. ~ Source unknown
