Tea Apron

I have learned to appreciate aprons.
I have many memories of my mom and aunts wearing aprons as they cooked and worked around the house. At the time, I didn't appreciate them and thought they were unnecessary. After ruining several pieces of clothing while cooking, I now see the necessity of aprons. And, I am thankful to have some of the vintage aprons of my mother and aunts as keepsakes.
While Mary and I were having lunch at the Garden Cafe on Friday, I spotted this apron on display in the gift shop. It is by Kay Dee Designs and is a "Classic Tea Apron." I can't wait to wear it when serving tea.

I love aprons too! Like Mother/like daughter. They so remind me of Granny...I wear one almost every time I cook! Love this one!

I believe I will start wearing an apron when I go out to eat. I am getting so bad to drop food on my front... It may be old age.... it may be that I stick out too far in that area... it may be that I am just careless. But, whatever the reason I am constantly walking around with food on my front. An apron would take care of that. However, can you imagine walking down the street and see a woman coming at you with an apron on.... Lordy mercy!!

I love your apron! I have some similar fabric -- blue and white with tea cups and tea pots printed on it -- that I made into a toaster cozy, and I'm going to use for a tea cozy, but I hope I have enough for a matching apron, too! Aprons are so handy; I use mine all the time whenever I'm cooking. A while ago I got _The Apron Book_ by EllynAnne Geisel, and it's such a fun book! I got some pink fabric with white polka dots the other day, and I'm going to make a little apron and matching tea towel for my niece who turns 3 on Friday, using a pattern from this book. Does your apron have pockets? They are so handy on an apron.
