Mary had a Pat Day Bobble Head from a special promotion several years ago at Churchill Downs. She carefully packed it in her purse and took it with us on Wednesday. Pat autographed it for her. We had a fun day! Today, (Friday) is the running of the Kentucky Oaks, "The Race for Fillies." Everyone attending is encouraged to wear pink in support of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure breast cancer research and education organization. Churchill Downs will donate $1 for every person attending toda's Oaks.

I'm loving this series, Linda. It's almost as fun as being there amongst all the festivities! I can really sense the excitement leading up to tomorrow's run.
Somewhere back in my not-too-distant family history is a horse jockey. I'll have to follow that up one of these days.

Now after seeing the table decorations I wish we had a silver julep cup to use for the centerpiece at my Grandma's breakfast tomorrow! Have fun!
