Welcome to Friendship Tea, a blog of rambling thoughts and daily happenings in the life of Linda, who is passionate about family, friends, life in Kentucky, and all things TEA!
I love to learn new things about tea and teatime. I've taken many tea classes and read much about the tea experience, but just recently learned this from the Tea 2009 Calendar. "Tip the teapot lid askew to signa for more tea." How simple can that be!?!
The test will be whether or not the server knows what it means....
That's a great idea! I'm afraid that the only tea room in our locale doesn't have servers who would understand such a thing. It's a sad state of affairs, isn't it.
This recipe is for the many hits I receive from searches for "Friendship Tea Recipe" ~~ 1/2 cup instant tea, 1 cup sweetened lemonade mix, 1 cup Tang, 1 tsp. ground cinnamon, 1/2 tsp. ground cloves, Combine all ingredients and mix well. Store in a an airtight container. To serve, put 2 to 3 tsp. mix in a mug and stir in 1 cup of boiling water. Adjust amount of mix to taste. Enjoy!
When the world is all at odds And the mind is all at sea Then cease the useless tedium And brew a cup of tea. There is magic in its' fragrance, There is solace in its' taste; And then laden moments vanish Somehow into space. And the world becomes a lovely thing! There's beauty as you'll see; All because you briefly stopped To brew a cup of tea. ~ Source unknown

well, that's a neat idea.
I like the little tip, and love your beautiful tea set!
I'll try this the next time I visit a tearoom. Tea 2009 is an interesting little calendar.
Great tip. Beautiful tea set. Is it a Sadler? If so, I have never seen a Sadler with a matching tray.

Time to travel to far-away tea rooms!

That is so interesting, I will try it next time I go for tea.
Well I have never heard that either. Must try! And that is a *beautiful* set, BTW!

The place we ususlly go for tea told me that a few months ago but I never knew either before that. It sure does make life simple.
Sweet Tea set.

That's a pretty little set, Linda! I love the tray.
This was a very popular pattern - Rose Tree Chintz. Years ago it was also called Apple Blossom by another company. Your Royal Patrician is lovely!
