This summer I am continuing to read the Turnham Malpas series of books about modern life in an English village by Rebecca Shaw. I learned about these books in January from a fellow blogger at Ramblings From An English Garden. Each book centers around the daily lives of the residents of the village and their social lives and the comings and goings at the church, the school, the store/post office, the pub and many cups of tea.GJ, AJ and I love to travel in England. We especially enjoy staying in self-catering cottages in small towns and villages and visiting tea rooms. This summer we are unable to take an extended trip to Britain due to supervising the work on our house. I am so glad I can continue my British travels through reading British books and magazines, and visiting lovely British blogs and tea-based blogs.

I know you're surprised, but i love doing this whenever i bump into a lovely blog. It'd be more delightful to just surprise you when you get your mail, but i have to have your address :) It kinda spoils the surprise having to ask you...

Looks like a great book series for summer reading.
I seem to remember reading "The New Rector" which I think is the first book in this series, is it?
It was enjoyable reading.
Linda darling, I read this book and it is fantastic, Shaw is a talented writer, you will love it. However, looking at the book currently, my dustjacket is different, strange!! Anyway, enjoy it and you are not missing much as this year, Britian has a nasty weather.
