Everyone enjoyed a casual dinner and an exchange of friendship with old and new friends at the Welcome Reception we hosted for our sister city delegation from Hokuto City, Japan. Forty people attended including the delegation and local folks. Of course, AJ received lots of attention as he was the only child there. I was very proud of his behavior and his hosting skills.

They all looked happy. That is so nice to have a Japanese Sister City. How did it come about?

How fun to see your gathering.
Portland has Sapporo for a sister city. My daughter, when she was in high school, was able to represent her school and city with a trip to Sapporo in an exchange program.
I miss these occassions. I don't miss the planning of them, just the attending.
If AJ grows up to be an ambassador, none of us is going to be surprised!
What fun! I am sorry I missed it!
