Tea Time With Berea Health Ministry — Tea in Mr. McGregor's Garden

Patty is a life-long friend. She was the grand prize winner of last year's table contest. I recruited her to join the tea committee this year. She is multi-talented and I am very grateful for her help. Among many, many tasks, she contacted potential hostesses and coordinated communication with the hostesses. Therefore, Patty's table was not in the contest.
Patty's goal was to show a whimsical theme, hoping our hostesses will realize they aren't required to have the finest of china to participate in this worthy cause. She is a retired elementary school teacher and an avid gardener. She has fond memories of her grandmother and her favorite aunt reading to her, including The Tale of Peter Rabbit. Therefore, her theme is Tea in Mr. McGregor's Garden. The rabbits in her centerpiece are from her collection. The cabbages in the wrought iron flower pot holder add just the right touch. Patty incorporated bumblebees, butterflies and packages of flower seeds into her garden theme. The tea set is from her Aunt "Edo's" (Edith's) estate. When we were little girls, Patty and I loved to sit with Edo in church on Sunday mornings. Edo had a very distinctive (and loud) voice. We would giggle as we tried to sing like her. Delightful memories!
A few years ago, I introduced Patty to the joy of afternoon tea. I am so glad I did!

I like the ceramic rabbit and the carrot. Peter Rabbit is classic like Alice's Adventures. It's tea-culture classic. --Teaternity

Hello darling, thank you for stopping by my cottage and for the kind words you left behind, much appreciated. I am one lucky girl to have you as a friend; you truly are the gem in my teacup. I am now off to stroll around your blog to see what I have missed.

What a lovely idea! (I once had rabbits, Peter and then Benjamin, but alas, they didn't last long.) But I still am very taken with this theme!
