My family and I visited the Myrtle Beach area many times during the 1980's, often twice a year. The daughters were young and spending time on the beach was a priority. During all those visits, we passed by the entrance to
Brookgreen Gardens many times, but I had never visited until this trip. Founded in 1931, it is a beautifully landscaped area featuring sculptures by American and international artists. The "old" girlfriends are standing amid a display of scarecrows from a recent decorating contest. We enjoyed our visit and tour on a glorious sunny day.

Fun tour of the gardens I bet. Patsy
What a fun garden to share with girlfriends. Oh the moss reminds me of a time long ago when we traveled to the south. Just beautiful!
How picturesque! I've never even heard of this place but will have to put it on my list of sites to visit one day!
What a great looking group of friends! Last February Tony and I went to a 'Warm Up With Winter Tea' there (I blogged about it here http://bit.ly/7O6QsP). I just checked their website and they're doing them again on Saturdays and Sundays in February 2010. You and your girlfriends might want to keep that in mind! x
P.S. Brookgreen is also doing a Mad Hatters Tea Party on
Saturday, January 9, 16, 23, 30!
I've never been but it sure looks like a place I'd enjoy. Thanks for posting the pics.
