January Family Tea - Scones & Desserts

Continuing our Family Tea on January 3 in Cincinnati....
The last two courses were brought to the table on two three tier servers. The Breads Course on the bottom tier (and plated above on my plate) consisted of Cranberry Scones, Currant Scones, Banana Nut Bread and Lemon Poppy Seed Bread. This course was served with Clotted Cream and Jam.
The Desserts were on the middle and top tiers. Lemon Blackberry Tarts, Mini Blueberry muffins, Chocolate-filled Pastry and the Cinnamon Pastry were on the middle tier shown below. Are you counting yet?
The top tier had Chocolate Dipped Madeline's, Fruit Bars, Chocolate Dipped Macaroons, Raspberry Petite Fours, Blueberry Pyramids topped with Lavender, and Chocolate Dipped Apricots garnished with edible gold.
OK, for those of you counting, there were 6 sandwiches/savories, 4 Fruit Breads/Scones and 10 Mini Desserts/Pastries. This is one of the few afternoon teas where the family can recall taking leftovers in to-go boxes. And, I mean a LOT of leftovers! Generous servings are the main reason the boys (big and small) in the family enjoy afternoon tea at the Netherland Plaza in Cincinnati. The cost per adult was $27 inclusive. The children's price was discounted.
The family enjoyed our January Tea and day in Cincinnati. By the way, our little boys are experienced at the afternoon tea time. AJ has accompanyed us to tea since he was 11 months old. He celebrated his 3rd and 10th birthdays at tea rooms in England. And this is PJ's 5th or 6th afternoon tea out. Don't they look handsome all dressed up?

Happy 4th Birthday PJ

After tea on Saturday we celebrated PJ's 4th birthday with the opening of his gifts. 10 year old AJ is is his best buddy as you can see in the photos above. PJ will celebrate his big day today with other children.
