Welcome to Friendship Tea, a blog about the daily happenings in the life of Linda, a tea enthusiast, who enjoys travel and trip planning, and is passionate about family, friends, life in Kentucky, and all things TEA.
Aunt Ida quietly passed away today at the Terrace Nursing and Rehab Facility while I was with her. She was my dad's sister, was like a second mother to me and a grandmother to my children. She lost her only son in 1957 and her husband in 1967. She was a very strong lady who loved to laugh. She was an avid sports fan, and an excellent golfer.
Aunt Ida gave me my first etiquette book when I was 16 years old, and she started me on my teacup collecting journey when she gave me these beautiful teacups many years ago.
Aunt Ida celebrated her 95th birthday last December. We will miss her, but we have many happy memories of special times together.
When the world is all at odds And the mind is all at sea Then cease the useless tedium And brew a cup of tea. There is magic in its' fragrance, There is solace in its' taste; And then laden moments vanish Somehow into space. And the world becomes a lovely thing! There's beauty as you'll see; All because you briefly stopped To brew a cup of tea. ~ Source unknown
