Our House — One Year Later — The Front Addition

The above photo was taken in the early stages of the front construction.  In the front, we added two rooms (my tea room and a family room),  extended the basement to make Grandpa's workshop, and removed the leaking chimney.

Many of my long-time readers followed  our 6-month house renovations during 2009.  GJ finished the landscaping in April so I thought I would share a few photos.
I will post photos of the back addition next.
If you want to see more of the process, just go to House Renovation 2009 under labels on the left.

Isn't it a wonderful sigh of relief when you wake up one morning, simply go to the kitchen for your tea, and realize that there's nothing you HAVE to do that day?

All the stepping-over, the walking-around, the noise and the dust and the debris are gone, and pure quiet and tranquility reign.

And it's worth every minute. Your new home is just gorgeous! I hope to see lots of occasions in the Tea Room. What a charming addition to a home!
