As you can tell from these photos, GJ, AJ and I enjoyed many cream teas while traveling in England in 2008. We are celebrating Britain's National Cream Tea Week by savoring our cream tea memories.
"Cream Tea" is a pot of tea served with scones, clotted cream and jam.
(It does not refer to cream in your tea.)
You may put milk in your tea if you choose, but not cream. Cream is too heavy for tea.

What lovely memories you must have of these travels!! Just the small-cobbled path to Mrs. Muffin's shop is an enticing entrance to such wonderful fare.
Do Y'all rent a car and drive yourselves to all your destinations, or do you hire a car and the driver is with you for the duration? That would be my ideal, for though I so loved touring on a bus, with everything managed and taken care of, we'd like to chose our own places to see, and find some really small, local sites for tea and photos.
We rent a car in Britain. GJ is the driver and I am the navigator, with a map in my lap at all times.
It will be interesting seeinghow all this great Tea Experience enfluences AJ's life!
I love my memories of our trip to GB, but as we were with a Young Farmer's group, I didn't have a cream tea. However, we did stay in some wonderful OLD farmhouses and have the hottest tea I've ever had! Living higher than Mount Snowdon means our water boils at a lower temperature. At sea level it really IS boiling!! Thanks for sharing. ♥♫
Fun post, Linda! I enjoyed seeing all your Cream Tea experiences. There's something so satisfying about enjoying tea in England, isn't there!
Love cream teas and how fun to get the opportunity to have cream tea in England.
Loved seeing all your photos of cream teas in Britain. The scones look scrumptious.
You have some of the best England experiences ever! how fun! And so does AJ...what memories he will have! My has he grown up!! I always think of him as an English gentleman! (SMILES)
Mrs. Muffin's Tea Shop - that's such a cute name! Oh, the clotted cream in the sour-cream like container looked so fun to sample! Can you believe I have never had the "real" thing...to think it's so easily accessible over there!! {sigh} -- One day I do hope to get there and have tea, scones and clotted cream!!
Some day maybe that will be me.If not at least I can dream.
