Enjoying Great Seafood at HHI

We love eating seafood when we travel to Hilton Head Island, SC.
GJ's seafood low country boil.
Linda's crabcakes
AJ's broiled seafood platter
Although we were stuffed, we ordered GJ's favorite dessert, Key Lime Pie, to share on his birthday.

Most of our favorite restaurants are on the waterfront.  We spotted a gator out the window at one restaurant and watched dolphins through the window at another restaurant.
In addition to the gators and dolphins, unfortunately the jellyfish were out in massive numbers. It was so bad on Friday, the lifeguards put up their yellow flag.   Many people of all ages were stung, even in shallow water.  GJ received more than his fare share with jellyfish stings on two different days.  AJ was one of the lucky ones who missed the very painful experience.

The meals all look fabulous!!! Have you ever made your own crabcakes? I discovered a recipe in Taste of the South that our family absolutely loves. It uses broken up cornbread. REALLY tasty.

Having lived near the coast for over 20 years, we have had our fair share of jelly fish stings. They are definitely painful. NO fun for GJ!!

Have a lovely day,
Patti

Oh, I could happily eat seafood three times a day, so this sounds great! And thanks for the gator photo! ;)

Wow, great minds think alike; have JUST returned (last night) from a week on HHI with a friend (hubbies had to work so "Thelma and Louise" did a beach vacation...! We stayed in a condo at Sea Side Villas; jelly fish were MOST prevalent; spent about 9 hrs each day on the beach, reading, walking, and people watching, too! Wish I knew you were there as well ~ could have 'hooked up'...glad you all had a GREAT time at the VERY HOT beach on Hilton Head; we sure did!
