The World's Longest Yard Sale

The World's Longest Yard Sale is held the first weekend of August along Highway 127 from Alabama to Michigan.  We traveled along parts of Hwy. 127 in Kentucky on Saturday and made a few stops.  Grandpa gave K.J. $5 to spend on anything she wanted.  She quickly found a toy table at one of the yard sales.

I went straight to the glassware and china.
I found six 9-inch clear Sandwich Glass plates to add to my collection.

Along the way, we stopped at the Bread of Life Cafe in Liberty, KY for lunch.
This is part of the Galilean home Ministries, Inc.  If you are not familiar with Jerry and the late Sandy Tucker and this wonderful mission, I hope you will take a few minutes to read about them at this link.   The children's home and missions are supported through private donations.  Many of the "family" work in the cafe and the other businesses they developed as part of the mission.
This "Good Rules for All" plaque was for sale in the gift shop.

The 'Good Rules" would be so cute in my classroom! The yard sale sounds like a good thing for shopping. Thanks for sharing. ♥♫

Those plates are the kind of thing you can *never* have enough of! I have always wanted to go to one of those longest-yard-sale events but never been in the right place at the right time!

Someday I would love to visit this yard sale. It sounds like so much fun. Love the sandwich plates.

I am so jealous! I'm an avid yardsaler/bargain hunter and I've always wanted to do that sale... but my job always keeps me busy in August.
Thanks for sharing your finds!
PS: I'm a BIG tea-drinker, too!
