FEI World Equestrian Games 2010

The World Equestrian Games are comprised of the world championships for eight equestrian sports.  The Games are held every four years, two years prior to the Olympic Games, and are governed by the Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI).

WEG has been the "buzzword" in central Kentucky for four years as our area has made preparations for this very special event.  The official name is 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games ™.

Opening day is Saturday, September 25th.  The closing date is October 10th.  The official location for the games is the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY.  However, every town in central Kentucky is celebrating with horse events, concerts and more.   Berea Tourism Commission will hold nightly events from Bluegrass Music to Jazz and Street Dances.

Kentucky is definitely the fun place to be for the next two weeks.

Sounds like great fun -- I hope you'll have some photos for us before it's all done!
