Vintage Crown Staffordshire Teacup Trio

I fell in love with English Teacup Trio Sets in 1998 when I spotted three Aynsley Trio Sets in the bargain basement of an antique shop in the beautiful village Chipping Campden.
At that time, I just thought of the dishes as a matching cup, saucer and dessert plate.
The lady owner of the shop said in her beautiful British accent,
"Oh, you found some trios!"
She wrapped them and I carried them home in my suitcase nestled in my dirty laundry.

Today, I added this  pretty Crown Staffordshire Trio to my collection!
Thanks, Mary!
Be sure to visit Miss Spenser's Blog to see more teacups being featured on Teacup Thursday.

They are lovely. I have noticed that on American ebay we sell cups and saucers but on English and Australian ebay sites they generally sell trios which I think is better. After all, one needs a plate for one's biscuits at tea time.

What a classy set! I *love* that you collect trios. Now, when I'm out antiquing and see them, I ponder "Would Linda like this trio?" I definitely associate them with you!

Your Crown Staffordshire teacup trio is lovely. I really like the soft elegant look of the rose pattern.

I wish all teaacups came with a plate. I have not heard them called a trio before. Lovely set.
You are invited for tea on Tuesday.
Hope to see you there at the party.

Have a wonderful week.
