Visiting Danish Gymnasts

Our town of Berea, KY has a long-standing relationship and exchange with Denmark.
This Danish Gymnastic Team arrived in town on Saturday (the day of my BHM tea).  We hosted 3 young men in our home for three nights.  During their visit here, they visited local elementary schools and Berea College for workshops and performances.  The group departed early this morning for their next destination, Chicago.  They, and their hosts,  had a very busy itinerary while they were in Berea.

GJ and I have hosted Danish folk dancers and gymnasts many times during the last 20 years.  And, we have visited Denmark twice, where we stayed with host families.
AJ enjoyed having these guys around!

Above, GJ introduced them to Cincinnati-style chili at Gold Star Chili.  They ate their first-ever pancakes and banana splits while they were our guests.  They loved them!  They weren't so sure about the peanut butter, but enjoyed tasting something they had heard about.

What a wonderful experience for AJ and for your guests. I remember having an exchange student once from France, he also wasn't so sure he would eat peanut butter, but loved Nutella.

Looks like everyone had a great time. I didn't know that pancakes and peanut butter are not common foods in Denmark - funny.
