Washington, DC — Thursday, June 3

We stayed at the Irish-owned historic Phoenix Park Hotel, just a couple of blocks from the capitol.
We started our morning with an Irish Country Breakfast, including Irish soda bread toast, and a strong cup of delicious Bewley's tea.  While GJ was in meetings, AJ and I visited the Smithsonian Postal Museum just across from the hotel.  We learned a lot of interesting facts about the history of the  postal service in the USA.  We each climbed aboard a stagecoach.  Thank goodness we didn't have to travel that way on our journey to D.C.  And, fortunately AJ didn't have the camera to take a photo of me climbing in a out of the stagecoach.
Later in the day we visited the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.
After a late dinner we walked around the capitol.
We enjoyed a delightful afternoon tea this afternoon.  I will post the details next.

Washington, DC — Wednesday, June 2

I have missed blogging for a few days because we have been traveling.  GJ had a meeting in D.C.
This is one of several business trips AJ and I are planning to tag along on this summer.
This was AJ's second visit to Washington, D.C. so we visited a few places we had not been before.  After checking into our hotel, our first stop was the International Spy Museum.  It was fascinating, but we could not take photos inside.
In the top photo, AJ cleaned up nicely to attend a business dinner.
Guess which of the desserts was his and which was mine.

Added Later:
That's right, the chocolate cake was  AJ's. We were enjoying our desserts at The Monocle Restaurant on Capitol Hill while Paul McCartney was singing Michelle at the White House.
