Afternoon Tea at the Charleston Place Hotel

After our week in Hilton Head, we drove to Charleston, SC on Sunday for an overnight.
We enjoyed afternoon tea at the Charleston Place Hotel.

I chose a pot of Harney and Sons First Flush Darjeeling, AJ had a Formosa Oolong and GJ had a Decaffeinated Ceylon.
The first course included four open-faced sandwiches — a cucumber, tomato and mozzarella on a baguette, a salmon and cream cheese with chives, artichoke and capers on rye, two southern pimiento cheese spinach wraps, and egg salad in a phyllo shell garnished with a sliced egg, chives and prosciutto.
The second course included fresh sliced strawberries, a crumpet, a raisin scone and a pistachio scone served with mock Devonshire cream, lemon curd and jam.
The dessert course included a strawberry tart, a chocolate expresso gateau, a petite lemon cupcake with a blueberry drizzle, a pecan cookie, and a chocolate ginger tart.
GJ does not eat cholocate so they kindly substitued his chocolates with extras of the other desserts.  In addition, he was served a white chocolate molded birthday cake with "Happy Birthday" on it.
The pianist who played melodies during tea, broke into a verse of Happy Birthday.  GJ could have dones without the birthday hoopla, but AJ and I enjoyed it.
