A Sixth Grade Science Project

AJ's recent science assignment was to make a 3-D model of a plant cell.
We drove to Hobby Lobby one evening where he picked out a large styrofoam ball, modeling clay, and pipe stems of various colors and shapes.  GJ and I just followed him around the store questioning many of the supplies he picked out, but it was his project and he knew what he needed.

Here is the finished project.  I was impressed!
He received an A+

He used the leftover modeling clay for a fun, creative play time on the table below.

He had a blast making and playing with these characters.

What a talented, creative artist you have there!!! With a great deal of budding scientist mixed in---he did a terrific job on the cell.

I just love seeing the creative process working in those young minds and hands---it's one of the blessings of life to see your child do something so interesting and well done---and better than we could have done at that age.
