Afternoon Tea at Yesterday's Cafe and Tea Room in Florence, KY

My birthday celebration continued with lunch tea for two on Saturday, March 12
at Yesterday's Cafe and Tea Room at 264 D Main Street, Florence, KY
We visited Yesterday's Cafe several years ago with AJ for lunch.
We enjoyed our lunch of soups, salads and sandwiches, and my first bubble tea.

This time, daughter Melissa made advance reservations
for Afternoon Tea  for GJ and me.
We were welcomed at our pretty table for two in the window,
with a "Happy Birthday" greeting.
We were offered a choice of three hot teas and iced water or
strawberry decaf iced tea and two pots of tea.
GJ chose a decaf English Breakfast and I chose Pai Mu Tan, a white tea.
He admitted he enjoyed the Pai Mu Tan better than his own selection.
Yesterday's has a selection of 60 loose leaf teas to choose from.

The first course was a choice of Potato-Leek or Tomato Parmesean Soup.
Each of us selected different, but very delicious soups.

The Earl Grey Scones served with Lavender Butter,
were brought to the table on a tea cart.

Tea sandwiches were served on the three tier server.
Chicken Salad Croissants on the bottom tier
Turkey with Herbed Mayo on wheat bread rectangles,
and Ham and Pimiento Cheese Pinwheels were on the middle tier
Date Squares were served on the top tier.

Below, are my tea sandwiches  and a date square on a pretty antique bubble glass dish.

Dessert was Traditional Bread Pudding presented in mini teacups

GJ and I thoroughly enjoyed a most delightful afternoon tea!

is owned and managed by Susan Shultz.
Yesterday's includes a cafe',  a tearoom, and a gift shop.
Susan teaches a variety of  tea education classes.
It is obvious Susan wants every guest to enjoy the best tea experience possible.
She has been trained in tea, and continues to be a student of tea.
That is something I very much admire in a tea room owner.
I have visited too many tearooms where the owner has no desire to learn and improve.
Susan's employees are among the most knowledgeable
and  best-trained I've seen in any tea room!

We look forward to returning to Yesterday's Tea Room!

What a lovely birthday tea. I love the special touch of the sign with a happy birthday. That yellow sandwich server is beautiful and the food sounds so good.
