The English Rose Tea Room — Chattanooga

Our family thoroughly enjoyed The English Rose Tea Room in Chattanooga!
It is described as an "authentic British Tearoom and Shop."

As most of you know, this family loves travel and visiting tearooms in Britain.
The English Rose is as close to an English tearoom as we've found on this side of the pond.
Clare, the manager, is from Sussex.  We so enjoyed visiting with her!

The Queen joined us for tea.
Oops, it's our own princess KJ doing the queen's wave.

Our table was set with Royal Albert Old Country Roses china,
but the men were offered a larger cup if they wanted it.
As you can see in the photo above, AJ (11) chose the "man's cup."

Royal Albert Old Country Roses teacups and PG Tips Tea.
How perfect is that!
We ordered a pot ofregular and and a pot of decaf.
Both were refilled as needed
We all ordered the Victorian Tea.  It was served on the three-tier server
The Victorian Tea included freshly baked scones
served with real clotted cream, lemon curd and jam

A selection of six finger sandwiches

an assortment of English cheeses and crackers and English biscuits

AND, a choice of desserts!
The guys chose the Knickerbocker Glory

Princess KJ chose the Sticky Toffee Pudding

and, I chose the Meringue Nest
~~~
More about the menu and shop in the next post.
Yes!  We returned the next day for lunch tea!
I told you my family loved The English Rose Tea Room.
Oh. My. A NEW destination!! This is just lovely---so serene and just the scene you'd expect in an English tea shop.
You all look like you're having a wonderful time, and the food looks simply scrumptious. I love how it seems as if you're looking down on doll dishes from the great height of the tea stand.
I also loved yesterday's---we were there on our honeymoon.
I have been to The English Rose with my cousin, and it is one of my favorite places. Thanks for the pictures and write-up.
What a lovely tea and tearoom. The scones and sandwiches particularly looked wonderful. The beautiful roses on the plates was a very pretty touch too.
Oh, thank you so much for this review! Alex and I were supposed to go there last year for Valentine's Tea but got snowed out, so I'll definitely be making an effort to go there next time. Love the royal waver, too!
