Madison County Homemakers Luncheon

Wanda (below) and I attended the annual Madison County Homemakers meeting and luncheon recently.

We enjoyed the catered lunch of chicken salad, oriental salad, pimento cheese sandwich, biscuits with country ham, fresh fruit and a tossed green salad.  The cupcakes were made by a 14 year old 4-H member, well-known for her cake decorating skills.  We enjoyed a nice day out with our Homemakers Club.

Oh, Linda! What memories of such wonderful times in those club meetings and luncheons and teas!

And what a lovely lunch---such perfectly-chosen good Southern items which go perfectly together.

Where I grew up, they called it the Home Demonstration Club, and when we lived in AL, and up here, they both just call it "Club."

I was always the "14 year old girl" who did the cupcakes, cakes, poundcake, etc., whenever the ladies had their club or bridge or committee meetings, and I guess that's how I got started cooking for so many people.

This was just a bright beautiful memory this rainy morning---I know you enjoyed it.
