My Mother's China

This is my mother's china.  She was very proud of this set.
They are Noritake Floral Rose Ridgewood # 5201 made in Japan, 1951 - 1961.
My mother collected these dishes one at a time at a local grocery store

She used them for special holiday family dinners.

Several pieces have been chipped and cracked over the years and can no longer be used,
but I still have a complete service for eight.

Every time I walk by my new Campbellsville Handmade Cherry corner hutch,
I think of my mother and her pride of her Campbellsville cherry dining room furniture and this pretty china.
She would have been very pleased to see them displayed in my dining room.

It is beautiful china, Linda, and such a sweet story. My mother's china was picked up piece by piece as well --- from gas stations with a fill up.

The china looks grand in your hutch. My mother's china was Noritake too. We just packed it up this past summer when we moved my dad out of his house. It's to go to my oldest daughter when she has a house someday.
Good memories.

Beautiful china and it looks especially pretty against the dark wood of the hutch!

I can see why your mother was so proud of her dishes, because these are classic and beautiful! I especially like how the band really sets off the pink roses. A great use of your new cabinet!

(Glad Blogger is working again!)
