Southern Living and Sweet Tea

The May 2011 issue of Southern Living® is infused with sweet tea recipes, and recipes using sweet tea.
A Sweet Tea Icebox Tart  and a pitcher of Sweet Tea is featured on the front cover. 
The lovely article contains recipes and information on "23 New Ways to Enjoy Tea From Platter to Pitcher."

My family's favorite recipe for sweet tea is the one I made for the baby shower on Sunday.

Linda's Citrus Tea Punch

7 regular-sized tea bags or scoops of loose leaf tea

4 cups boiling water

1 1/2 c. sugar

1 (6 oz) can frozen orange juice concentrate

1 (6 oz.) can frozen lemonade concentrate

10 c. water

Pour boiling water over tea bags in a glass container (I use a Pyrex 8 c. measuring cup)

Cover and steep 5 minutes; remove tea bags

Add sugar and stir until dissolved.

Pour into a one gallon container and add other ingredients (makes 1 gallon)

Refrigerate and serve over ice

I get Southern Living too and could not help but think of you when I saw all those tea recipes. It's been cool here lately and I've really been enjoying that tea you sent.

During the winter when my shop was slow, I went through about 10-15 annual SL Recipe books from the
70's- 1980's. My plan was to copy out my favorites to file is separate categories. Well, I'm still not done as the pile sits behind me here in the office! Not this week though....to busy. Thanks for your recipe which I copied!
