Fun in Louisville

What comes to mind when you think of Louisville, KY?
(pronounced Lou-a-vul)

Churchill Downs? The Kentucky Derby?

GJ had a business meeting at Churchill Downs, so AJ and I tagged along.
During the meeting, AJ and I visited the Kentucky Derby Museum located at Churchill Downs.
The entrance (above) is through an authentic starting gate.
There are many interactive and fun exhibits, including AJ's favorite,
jockeying your own horse through a race.

I enjoyed the Derby Hat and attire exhibit.
Anna Nicole Smith's outfit is in the photo below.
After the business meeting, we had lunch in a private box and watched a few of the afternoon races.

We stayed overnight at the historic Seelbach Hilton Hotel,
and had dinner at the nearby Eddie Merlot's Restaurant.
Our server, below, is making Strawberries Romanoff, one of their flaming desserts.

It was a nice overnight trip with lots of fun memories.

By the way, AJ and I will be tagging along on a few more business trips during summer break.

Hi Linda
I've been gardening a lot lately and had to read over your last posts. The museum is one I'd enjoy as my parents were real race horse fans and enjoyed a good outing at the track.
Sandwich glassware is new to me, I'll have to look it up. I'm sure you'll think of something to do with the amber bowls.

Love the beds, the food, the pics, designs, love the blog period!

You make me want to come over and visit! Your blog is nice and so refreshing. A place where I'd want to come often to read, relax, put my feet up and of course drink a good cup of tea!

Looks like you all had a terrific time, especially AJ! And when I think of Louisville, I also think of Diane Sawyer and Muhammad Ali! Thanks to you and our magazine's printer there in Kentucky, I no longer say "Lou-ee-ville." Ha!
