Teacup Thursday — Handpainted Orion China

This pretty vintage teacup and saucer was given to me by Aunt Ida.
It is one of a dozen+ she collected while "antiquing" with lady friends
along the scenic back roads of Kentucky.
It is a hand painted Orion China made in Occupied Japan,
probably from 1945 - 1952.
This special gift from Aunt Ida sits in a place of honor on my mantle
in memory of a very special lady.

It is gorgeous! Love the black on it, very striking!

Oh, yes - striking is the right word. The black is very unusual and I like it.

This is a beautiful set -- even prettier knowing it came from Aunt Ida! That black really makes the elegant design and colors pop, doesn't it?
