The Wild Plum Tea Room is our favorite place for lunch when we visit the Great Smoky Mountains.
The Wild Plum is converted from an old home and has indoor and outdoor seating.
It is located in the Great Smoky Arts and Crafts Community area near Gatlinburg, TN on Buckhorn Road.
Among their specialities are the Wild Plum Muffins, served with Wild Plum Jelly and the Wild Plum Tea (hot or iced)
GJ, the hubby, and I ordered the Lobster Pot Pie and the Shaker Popcorn Chowder.
We also ordered a side of potato salad to share. It was made with sweet potatoes, Yukon gold potatoes, fresh broccoli and a mild curry dressing.
AJ (11) chose a turkey and cheddar wrap with fresh fruit and soup.
KJ (9), below, chose the PBJ sandwich and fresh mustard salad.
There is a small tea wares gift shop area.
I will share my purchases during this trip in a later post.
The delicious desserts are a must at The Wild Plum!
AJ and KJ ordered the Brownie Delight.
GJ and I shared the Amaretto Bread Pudding.
Oh, so yummy!!
The menu is posted just outside the entrance near the herb garden.
The Wild Plum is a quaint place for a delicious lunch and is not a typical English afternoon tea room.
However, we love the ambiance and the menu selection.
The hot Wild Plum (fruit) tea was the perfect beverage choice during the cool temperatures during our visit last week.
I am so glad I purchased their recipe book during my first visit here in 2001.
I have made and served their signature tea recipe to groups on several occasions.
This was the first of several tea room visits and fun outings during Spring break week as we traveled across Tennessee.
