My friend, Mary, called me recently while she was visiting thrift shops looking for treasures.
She calls when she runs across Sandwich Glass, and various teacups and teapots.
Yes, I know, some of you refer to Mary as my "personal shopper." *smile*
She found the goblets and sherbets for only 50 cents each.
Of course, I couldn't pass that up.
The cake stand was $49. It is gorgeous! I'm so glad she found these pieces for me.
One of the first rules of collecting Sandwich Glass is to know which type you are collecting.
My "collection" includes Sandwich Pattern Glassware by Duncan and Miller, Anchor Hocking, Indiana Glass and Westmoreland. I haven't studied it seriously enough easily identify each one without notes and photos.
But, at least thus far, I have limited my collecting to clear glass.
