Tea Leaves for Roses




Used tea leaves are very good for rose bushes. Tea leaves are acidic, and a good source of nitrogen when sprinkled on the ground around the plants and allowed to compost.

New or used tea leaves are good for growing roses. Tea leaves can also be used to help lower the soil's pH. Soil high in pH can become great breeding grounds for rust fungus species that can ruin rose bushes.

Last year I gave GJ, the hubby, a zip lock bag full of dried used tea leaves to put around the roses.   Our roses are abundant and beautiful this year!  He believes the tea is responsible.
