Kentucky Storms

Photos from Kentucky.com

I received several emails from reader friends checking on my family due to the national publicity of Wednesday's and Friday's weather here in Kentucky.  Thank you for your concern.  Our family is fine.  GJ, AJ, daughter #2, LS, SIL JS, and granddaughter KJ were in our basement in Berea.  I was in N.KY with daughter #1, MJ, SIL TJ, and grandson PJ in their basement.  The only damage we found is hail damage to our farm house and another building at the farm. We are so fortunate.
I have lived through several tornadoes in my lifetime, and I've seen much damage.  But, I  have never experienced the number of tornado touch-downs, and fear as we experienced in this area on Friday.

Our family is very blessed, and thankful to God for our safety.  Please pray for those people who lost their homes, their vehicles, personal belongings,  their lives, and their loved ones.  This is a very difficult time in our beautiful state.  Several towns were totally destroyed.  This is extremely early in the tornado season. Let us hope and pray the rest of the season is not like this week.

Added on Monday:  We are experiencing 1 - 6 inches of snow across the state,  and cold temperatures today.  It adds to the danger of the clean-up.

Glad you all are OK, and wow, those pictures definitely make you appreciate all the damage! I learned this weekend that a co-worker's father was among those killed in Kentucky during the storm. Prayers going up to all the families affected!

I am so glad to hear you and your family are fine. These photos remind me so much of photos of my home town many years ago after a terrible tornado. Our hearts go out to those who have lost their homes and businesses!

Thinking of you and happy to hear that you and your family are all doing well.

As the recovery goes forward, may those affected be in our thoughts and prayers.
