Rapid City - Day 2

The statues of the USA Presidents on the street corners in downtown
Rapid City were interesting to look at while we were walking around in the mornings and evenings
Our family enjoys staying in historic hotels in downtown areas whenever possible.
The Hotel Alex Johnson has been renovated in recent years.
On our 2nd day trip, we drove through the scenic Badlands National Park.

 Amazing and beautiful!
We saw several different types of wildlife, but the most fun was the prairie dogs
located on a drive down a gravel road in the park leads to Prairie Dog Town.
And, more bison.
During our day's drive, we took a break at the famous Wall Drug Store in Wall, SD
where the guys ate buffalo burgers for lunch.
Sorry, I forgot to take photos and I can't get their
phone photos to cooperate with my blog.

We were in the Badlands years and years ago... and we even visited Wall Drug Store at the time. That was in the '60's!

What a fun trip. Now I know the Wall Drug Store stop, but don't think I have seen the badlands so closely. Prairie dogs are indeed fun to watch.

You know, seeing things like this reminds me how blessed we are to live in a great country where you have so many, varied landscapes, from north to south and east to west, whether you want mountains or ocean or desert or whatever, the USA offers it! (And I happen to be a great fan of that president your hubby is standing by!)

More fun memories to treasure! You post brings back memories of Wall Drug and the Badlands many years ago. I think it's time for my sweetheart and I to return for another visit.

What another wonderful day in the Black Hills! We love the new developments Rapid City has made in the Downtown Area (http://www.visitrapidcity.com/whattodo/downtownrapidcity/). Rapid City, SD is a great central location to many beautiful national parks and monuments (http://www.visitrapidcity.com/whattodo/parksandmonuments/)
