Antique Shopping While Traveling

Oh my!  I spied this tiered table in an antique mall window
 in Rapid City, South Dakota.
The price was right, and I wanted it so badly!
But, it wouldn't fit in my suitcase!
Around the corner in another shop I found FOUR
dinner plates in the clear sandwich glass pattern for
only $4.99 each. (sigh!)
I carried them around, let GJ feel the heavy weight, and...

put them back on the shelf.
It's not easy to do serious antique shopping while traveling.
Before you make your comments,
I know about shipping.  I have done it several times.
This just wasn't meant to be one of those times.

Feeling your pain....

Oh my, that table is lovely! But I know what you mean ... I remember lugging four clay teapot planters through the Milwaukee airport a few years ago. They made it home safely, but what a headache babysitting those things through the airport!

I have never seen a table like that, it is so nice. I know you must of hated to leave it behind.

That is a very unique table! I'm sorry it wouldn't fit into your suitcase. :(

That's when a road trip is a good way to travel. It was fun to pick up a few things on our road trip. I do think I wouldn't have been able to pass up the plates; though sometimes I just enjoy looking and taking pictures home with me. That's mostly the way I antique shop these days and I have so much fun.

Beautiful table, but the photograph is much easier to transport - and just think of the money you saved! ;-)
