On Saturday afternoon we stopped at Teaism in Penn Quarter for a late lunch.
Teaism Restaurant is a "walk up to the counter and place your order" Asian Tea House.
The Penn Quarter location is one of several in Washington, DC.
Teaism Shops are located near each restaurant/tea house.
The menu indicated Traditional Menu or Asian Menu afternoon tea is available every day 2:30 - 5:30.
We chose the Traditional Afternoon Tea served on two-tier servers.
The traditional menu included:
Two Cucumber Tea Sandwiches
Two Salmon Tea Sandwiches
Ginger Scone with Marmalade
Lemon Curd Tarts
(however, I believe these may have been Mochi, a Japanese Sweet Bean Confection)
And, a pot of tea from a selection of Black Oolong, Green, White and Tisanes.
Teaism was extremely busy on Saturday afternoon.
It was an interesting experience, much different from the English-style, relaxed, quiet
afternoon tea. The tea was perfectly brewed and the food was tasty.
It was a fun and memorable tea/lunch for our family
while out touring museums in the Penn Quarter area in Washington, DC.
