Tea at the Ranch

I always take a tea mug and tea with me when we travel.
This time it was my Dunoon "The Cotwolds" design.
The Cataloochee Guest Ranch in Maggie Valley is a far distance from
the Cotswolds, but it was nice to have my English-made mug
to comfort me during the misty, foggy, cool times on the mountain.
The Harney and Sons Queen Catherine Blend of three Chinese black teas
made a great comforting cuppa.
I took these photos in the comfortable, warm Ranch House
where all the hearty meals are prepared then served  family-style
as guests sittogether at long tables.
Wintergreen Cabin where we stayed is just below the horse barn
in the photo above.
While the family was out horseback riding in the rain,
I enjoyed the peace and quiet and the beautiful view
from my rocking chair on the front porch of Wintergreen Cabin.
The Ranch House is at the top of the hill in this photo.

The Cataloochee Guest Ranch is located at 5000 ft. elevation,
near Maggie Valley, North Carolina,
bordering the Smoky Mountains National Park.
The ranch is owned by the Alexander Family,
and is currently managed by the third generation of the family.

We arrived on Sunday, September 30th and stayed three nights.
Lunch and dinner are included, and lunch is optional.
We enjoyed all our meals at the Ranch House.
On the rainy Monday afternoon, we drove to nearby
Waynesville, NC to shop at the popular Mast General Store.
AJ and KJ love the old-fashioned candy counter there.
