Red Blossom Tea - Three Cultivar Red Tea

This may be the best, most smooth tasting black tea
I have had the pleasure of drinking.
(Yes, I really said that)

This is one of several teas I ordered online from
Red Blossom Tea Company in San Francisco.
Read the description from their website below.
Two cups down and more to go....

Three Cultivar Red

Tea Location
Our Three Cultivar Red is a unique blend of three varieties from Wuyi Shan and Fujian Province. In a world defined by tradition and age-old crafting methods, this tea is a rare innovation. The tea maker who created it is amongst a small group experimenting with new cultivars and crafting styles to create wonderful and delicious teas that buck tradition.
The leaves for this tea were harvested the first week of May 2012. It consists of leaves of two aromatic cultivars typically reserved for Wuyi Oolongs: Huang Guan Yin and Jin Guan Yin. These teas were then blended with a small leaf cultivar typically used to make green tea. Together, they were withered, oxidized and roasted to create one of the most unique flavor profiles we’ve come across in recent memory.
There is no astringency or bitterness to this tea. Instead, it is one of the sweetest black teas we’ve tasted, with the brightness of green apple and muskiness of ripe cantaloupe. This aroma is noticeable from first to last brew, and remains on the upper palate after every sip

I am so happy we found Red Blossom Tea Company
several years ago on a visit to San Francisco.

I can just smell those fragrant leaves---the green apple and the cantaloupe must make for a fruity cup.

I'm still hoarding the last two of the sachets you sent, and I think we'll have them the first time we take a pot out onto the patio. (After the cleaning and power-washing of house and concrete---too long postponed and delaying all the setting up of furniture and flowerpots).

Hope you're recuperating from all that travel and have marvelous memories of every moment.

Oh my, this does sound yummy! (And if it gets the LJ Seal of Approval, well that is high praise indeed!) Also love the blue teacup and (don't think I'm weird) that pretty color of pink nail polish!

That is high praise for this tea. Have to consider purchasing some myself to try. Enjoy seeing your teacups, too.

This does sound good. When I visited their shop in March I bought Golden Monkey and wasn't that impressed. Maybe I need to give them another chance with this.
