Susan Branch Book and Mugs of Tea

I ordered the new Susan Branch book,
"A Fine Romance, Falling in love with the English Countryside"
from her website,
I could have written this book!
Well,  not really, because I am NOT a writer, a professional photographer,
and most of all, I am definitely NOT an artist!!
But, Glenn, Austin and I have traveled to many of the same lovely places
she described in this journal of her most recent 2-month trip to England.
We experienced many of the same fun and almost scary adventures while
driving a rental car on the "other side of the road."
We have visited many of the same beautiful English gardens,
manor houses, tea rooms, and more.  We stayed in 600 year-old self-catering cottages
and flats in small villages.  We have waited while sheep cross the road before
we can continue driving.
We fell in love with beautiful village of Bibury
and the Bibury Court Hotel in 1998,
and returned several times since.
(see her photos in the book below)
I so much enjoyed reading about her stay there!
I could not put this book down when I began reading it.
I savored every word, every photo, and every drawing!
I enjoyed several mugs of tea
from my "Welcome to the Cotswolds" Dunoon mug
purchased at a shop in Broadway.
I was sorry when the book came to an end,
But, reading it brought back so many wonderful memories of our
trips to England.  Oh, how we want to return soon.
Today the tea in my mug is a loose leaf Harney and Sons
Passion Fruit Flavored Black Tea.

I understand the book is going into its second printing as the books are gone! Silly me, I have to wait until October now to have my own copy. Lucky you, to have been to the same places. Our trip to GB was a Young Farmer's trip, so you can imagine the focus was quite different. But, I had a great time anyway and was ready to return the day after we came home. Left in a blizzard and returned in one that February.♥♫

I have received the copies I pre-ordered and have not opened the box yet! I am waiting for a day when I have time to enjoy every moment including rubbing my hands on the front cover and drinking in every page. I have made reservations at a book store in Hudson Ohio that is hosting her on Sept 3 (it is a 2 hr drive each way and my dear husband is my willing driver, bless him) so I have to open that box soon!!

Wish I had pre-ordered this book - will be on my Christmas wish list for sure!

Love you have travelled and done so much, this book must feel like a journal of sorts, eh?

I am so excited for you.

Have a great weekend! Hugs!

I ordered this book too after reading about it on other blogs, so I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it as well. Can't wait for mine to arrive!

I came back looking for this post because I had ordered the book because it wasn't in stock and I picked it up tonight. I remembered you had mentioned it some time back and wanted to see what you had to say. I started reading it during dinner and can't put it down!
