Gluten Free Cooking

I am excited to have three new gluten free recipe books
so that I can hopefully become a little more
creative with my GF cooking in 2014.

Christmas Teapot #6 Longaberger Holly

This pretty and practical teapot is a Longaberger® Holly pattern,
purchased in the 1990's, when I was a Longaberger consultant and
their pottery was made in the U.S.A.
I have the matching set Christmas Holly dishes which set a pretty table!

Christmas Teapot #5 Lenox

I purchased this pretty Lenox® teapot
after Christmas a few years ago at 70 percent off.
I saw it, I snatched it!
I don't have the matching dishes,
but my friend Patty does, and she is welcome to borrow my teapot!

Christmas Teapot #4

This fun, whimsical, functional teapot was a
gift in a Christmas tea gift exchange an
online tea group held a few years ago.
I just love to walk to the mailbox and find surprises!
Don't you?

is among my favorite Christmas teapots.

Christmas Teapot #2 Pfaltzgraff Winterberry

This Pfaltzgraff® Winterberry teapot was a Christmas gift
from daughter Melissa and her family.  Melissa is our bargain
shopper in the family, and I'm sure she purchased this on the after-Christmas
clearance shelf the year before.  Her blog is and she is well-know nation-wide
for bargain shopping and education.
This festive teapot is a nice size and weight for serving Christmas tea.

Christmas Teapot # 1 Vintage Sadler

I have a few Christmas teapots, so I thought I would
count-down to Christmas with them here.
I recently purchased this pretty vintage Sadler Windsor English teapot
on eBay.  It is my favorite "new' teapot.
Austin happily went out the door this morning to school
saying "only three days to Christmas break."
However, to be politically correct,
it is school "winter break."

December Afternoon Tea at Boone Tavern Hotel

Christmas Afternoon Tea at Boone Tavern Hotel
on Saturday, December 14, was fun for everyone.
Thank you to Gary, the General Manager, for
allowing me to help with this
lovely tea experience in Berea, KY.
To my tea friends and blog followers:
I was so busy in the kitchen making tea,
and then in the dining room greeting guests,
that I only took a few photos.

Christmas Village of Tea Rooms

The Jennings Village of Tea Shops and Tea Rooms
is up and ready for Christmas.
This year Austin added a few Lego characters.
Another 2013 addition is the Village Ice Skating Pond.
Glenn added the musical train and train station last year.

It has been fun to see our village of tea shops and tea rooms grow over the past 20 years.

Christmas Tea Table

The room in the front of our home is the one we named
"the tea room."  It has been decorated for Christmas since the
Kentucky Living Magazine photo shoot in August.
I replaced the round table for six
with this table set for four.
It is set for afternoon tea with
four different Christmas teacup trio sets.
The first pretty trio is "Christmas Rose" by Rosina China, and is from the
Queens Special Flowers Collection.
The next trio is a pretty vintage Royal Albert "Poinsettia"
  I recently purchased.

The third place is set with "Christmas Rose" by Royal Albert.
Rosina "Yuletide" is the pattern I used
for the Kentucky Living Magazine photos.

Now to plan the menu and invite guests....

A Social History of Tea - Book

by Jane Pettigrew and Bruce Richardson
is the most recent addition to my tea book shelf,
arriving in yesterday's mail.
I have been anxiously awaiting this book since I
pre-ordered it several weeks ago from Elmwood Inn Fine Teas.
This is an updated version of the original 2001 Jane Pettigrew book.
This new edition includes Bruce Richardson's American perspective
and includes information about "tea and health" in the 21st Century.
I look forward to reading this book
from Benjamin Press.
