Afternoon Tea St. Regis Hotel NYC - 2006

These are scanned photos from my files of pre-digital camera
and pre-blog times.  I began this blog in January 2008,
and we enjoyed many tea adventures before that date.
In July, 2006, AJ was 7 years old when we enjoyed
Afternoon Tea in the Astor Court of the historic landmark St. Regis Hotel.
My notes are sketchy, but I remember a few details.
Located in the center of Manhattan, the Astor Court where afternoon tea
is served daily the windows look out on 55th Street.
The tables, with Porthault linens and Limoges china, and Waterford crystal,
set the tone for an elegant dining experience.
On the three-tier server above, scones were served warm under the dome
on the top tier.  Assorted finger sandwiches were on the second tier, and
delicious pastries on the bottom tier.  We chose the St. Regis Blend Tea.
I chose The St.Regis for our first NYC hotel
afternoon tea after reading and thoroughly studying
the book, Tea in the City, New York,
by Elizabeth Knight and Bruce Richardson.

Great memories!
