Afternoon Tea at The Four Seasons Hotel, Washington, DC - 2006

On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, March 12, 2006,
while in Washington, D.C. for a meeting,
GJ, AJ, and I met our friend LB at
the Four Seasons Hotel in the Georgetown neighborhood.
Afternoon Tea was served in the Garden Terrace Lounge.
I only have this one photo above from that afternoon.
Apparently, we were too busy enjoying the foods and visit
with our friend, I forgot to take more.
From my 2006 notes:
"Loose leaf teas in small jars were brought to the table
for each guest to choose our tea.
Each guest's loose tea was prepared in a
small white teapot with an
accompanying matching teapot of hot water.
The server continuously refilled the hot water pot
as each guest poured hot water in the teapots throughout the tea.
You can get the idea from the photo of my plate above.
Both teapots were on a small matching white ceramic tray,
and set at each guest's place.
Also from my notes:
AJ was offered The Children's Tea including
Chocolate Milk, a PBJ sandwich,
and a Chocolate Chip Cookie, and other items.
He was 7 years old at the time and readily agreed
to that special menu, then sat back and happily played
his electronic game while the three adults enjoyed the afternoon.
"The beautiful and delicious sandwiches were served plated.
The scones and sweets were served on a three-tier-server.
The ambiance and service were excellent.  We were not rushed,
and the Terrace Lounge was full with guests by the time we left.
Obviously, a very popular Sunday afternoon activity!"
