Gluten Free Afternoon Tea for two of the Traveling Tea Friends

Pastry Chef Liz prepared a delicious Gluten Free version of the 
Kentucky Derby Inspired Afternoon Tea
for Melissa (Celiac Disease) and me (gluten intolerance)
 A Ceramic Spoon of Spoonbread (above) to be eaten warm with butter.
The recipe for spoonbread is gluten free.

The first course was served to all guests plated: 
 Liz's Spicy Pimento Cheese Sandwich on Gluten Free Bread
Fancy Deviled Egg
Mini Hot Brown in a Ceramic Spoon
Open-faced Country Ham and Apricot Jam on Gluten Free Bread Round
The presentation is lovely! 
The next two courses were served on the three tiered server to guests,
but Gluten Free guests must be served separately.
Therefore these courses were served plated:
Gluten Free Blueberry Scone
Gluten Free Lemon Scone
Served with Double Devon Cream and Jam
White Chocolate Dipped Raspberries and Strawberries
Chocolate Bourbon Tartlet (flourless chocolate cake)
and Spoon of GF Race Day Pie

Chef Liz is awesome!!!! The special menus were not an "after thought" or "make-do" - they are outstanding and special dishes! I bet the other guests were a little jealous of some of those items.

I am very intrigued by the mini Hot Brown!

I think it is wonderful they offer the options for special diets -- I believe more and more places will have to consider doing that!
