Memories of Tea Time in England

One of the most often asked questions we hear is "what is your favorite tearoom?"
Glenn will immediately answer,
"The Old Bakehouse Tearoom near Stanway, England."
Sally Kirkland's scones are his favorite of all time!
I have blogged about our visits to this tearoom several times.
We discovered it in 2002 on Austin's first visit with us to England
when he was three years old,
and we returned for tea during his next two visits.
We plan to visit England next summer and tea at
The Old Bakehouse Tearoom is on our "must do" list.
You may see information about the tearoom at this link.
It is located near Winchcombe in Glouscestershire
directly on The Cotswold Way a national walking trail.

Austin celebrated his 9th birthday on our 2008 trip.
We are overdue for another visit!

Tea Break

Taking a short blogging break to catch-up with
every day "things"  while sipping many cups of
Harney Queen Catherine Blend.
This photo is a favorite from one of our several trips to the Cotswolds.
Austin was 3 years old.

Back to School

Austin began 10th grade yesterday.
It is a busy time for our family.
Could it be the end of summer already?
I remember when school didn't begin until after Labor Day.

Tea From Japan

Austin's host family sent gifts of Japanese tea to me.
I can't read Japanese, but I can determine from
the pictorial directions on the back
the first package is loose leaf and...

the second package is
tea bags.
Austin said he drank green tea every day with meals
at his host's home.
But, he doesn't think he drank teabag tea.
His host mother made tea in a teapot for the family.

Look at the tag on this tea bag with a
cutout so it will hang on the teacup without falling in.
Brilliant idea, in my opinion!
Austin said there was a little residue left in the bottom
of his teacup everyday, similar to the photo.
Could it possibly be Matcha in a teabag?
Austin and I will continue to do a little more taste-testing
during the next few days.

Memories of Trip to Japan

 Austin is home from Japan!
He had a great trip and thoroughly enjoyed his visit with Kotaro, above.
Below, is a photo of the Hokuto City and Madison County
students at Tokyo Disney.
A "selfie" of Austin and his host family, below.
This certainly been a summer of travels for our family!

Vintage Minton Teacup Trio

My most recently purchased teacup trio is tops on
my list of favorites.  It is an English Bone China Minton Marlow.
I love the shape of the teacup. It is more wide than most of
the teacups in my collection.
Is it a teacup or a coffee cup?
Do any of the antique and teawares experts
who read this blog know?

Harney Peaches and Ginger Tea

Maureen of Tea and Talk Blog brought several gifts
to me when she visited in March, including
Harney and Sons Peaches and Ginger Flavored Black Tea.
This is a black tea blended with dried peaches and ginger,
and can be served as hot tea or iced tea.
With the current summer temperatures, my next
brew will be iced tea.
