I received a gift in the mail from Boone Tavern Hotel
as a thank you for hosting a tea event in March of this year.
The gift included the *new* Boone Tavern Blend Tea and a Berea College
handcrafted pottery mug.
The Boone Tavern Tea is a blend of single-estate teas
from India and Sri Lanka, expertly blended and packaged
by Bruce Richardson of Elmwood Inn Fine Teas in Danville, KY.
Many of my blog readers will remember several blog posts
from the Afternoon Tea events I helped plan and host
at Historic Boone Tavern Hotel,
including the event for tea bloggers in March.
I first mentioned the need for a Boone Tavern Blend
to the general manager, Gary, when we began planning
afternoon tea service and events in early 2013.
I also mentioned this to Bruce Richardson.
I am so happy to see this special blend of tea!
(sipping the smooth blend as I type)
From the back of the tea tin:
Historic Boone Tavern
The inspiration for a hotel to house guests of Berea College
was the idea of Nellie Frost, wife of college president William Frost.
Work began in 1907 of the stately public inn built with bricks manufactured
by students in the college's brickyard and finished by the college's woodworkers.
The tavern is named for early Kentucky explorer Daniel Boone.
Boone Tavern Blend is a unique balance of exceptional single-estate teas from the finest gardens in India and Sri Lanka. It makes the perfect accompaniment for your afternoon or morning tea times.
Note: This tea is also delicious as iced tea.
Congratulations to Historic Boone Tavern Hotel at Berea College
and Bruce Richardson of Elmwood Inn Fine Teas
on this delicious tea blend!
