Afternoon Tea at The Cottage

The Cottage, Café,  Bakery and Tea Room is located in
historic Bluffton, SC.
After several jellyfish stings (Austin) everyone wanted a day off the beach.
We called for reservations for afternoon tea.

The menu below shows the
afternoon tea menu options and the list of
loose leaf teas.

I have discovered in my many years of travel to different tea rooms,
every one is unique and very often reflects the personality of the owner.
I would describe the The Cottage as being a funky casual
café and bakery with a nice selection of loose leaf teas.
It reminds me a lot of Alice's Teacup in NYC.
The Cottage is located in a historic house with various
rooms and porches used as dining rooms.  It is
decorated with teapots and tea cups and the displayed art is for sale.

Everyone was hungry and ready to eat when our food arrived.
Sandwiches were chicken salad, pimento cheese, and ham and cheese.
Fresh fruit, mixed nuts, and scones were on the 2nd tier, with the sweets on top.

My gluten free version was served on its own plate.

I forgot to take photos of Peyton's Children's tea
with PNB, banana and Nutella sandwiches,
and an extra large cup of hot chocolate.
A piece of artwork came home with Glenn!
It is a print which reminds him of a Cotswold Cottage.
We all enjoyed the food, tea, and respite from the beach.
