Tea With Melissa

I visited Melissa and family for a few days last week.
We took a little time for gluten free lunch/tea at Yesterday's Tea Room
in Florence.  This is one of our favorite activities when
I'm in Northern Kentucky.
Susan, the owner of Yesterday's is very well educated in tea.
In addition to the tea room, there is a boutique, a children's tea party room,
a small cafe' to dine in or take away (British for "to-go") a variety of fresh-baked
scones, muffins, cakes, salads, soup, sandwiches, and of course a variety of teas.

 Cafe entrance below.

We enjoyed a full afternoon tea with the featured iced tea
(green tea lemonade)
and, a featured pot of tea, Mango Green.
Both were delicious.
Our lunch/afternoon tea began with a cup of yummy sweet potato soup.
Next was the main course, 1/2 chicken salad sandwich on fresh baked GF bread,
Cucumber tea sandwich on GF white bread,
Apple and cinnamon cream cheese tea sandwich on GF raisin bread
Green salad with mandarin oranges and a homemade dressing
Marinated slaw
For dessert we had a delightful warm GF caramel bread pudding.
We were so hungry and busy talking I forgot to
take photos until everything was half-eaten.
Austin was in Nashville on a school trip, and Glenn was busy with
several evening meetings. It was a great opportunity for me
to visit and shop with Daughter #1 and family for a few days.

Thank you for sharing part of your visit to Melissa's with us. Yesterday's Tea Room looks lovely and I'm glad there were so many gluten free offerings. There's nothing better than Mother/Daughter time together!

Hello Linda, Glad you had the chance to spend time with Melissa. She is looking well and happy. The green tea lemonade looks interesting. Did you know that iced tea/lemonade is called an Arnold Palmer? (Not sure that applies to green tea!) Have a great week!

Hi, Linda: I discovered your blog while visiting Angela's site, Tea with Friends. When I lived in Lexington, KY my Red Hat friends used to enjoy outings to various tea rooms, and Yesterday's sounds like one we would have checked out.
