Spring Break 2015 - Vienna, Austria

The  Berea Community High School Travel Club
traveled to Austria, Germany and Switzerland
during Spring Break 2015 with EF (Educational)Tours.
We arrived home safely on Easter Sunday evening.
On Friday, March 27 we departed Lexington, KY to
Chicago, Amsterdam, and arrived in Vienna, Austria
Saturday, March 28.
Our Tour Director Tom, an American living in Munich,
met us at the airport where we joined high school groups from PA and NY.
Bart, our driver, was from Poland.
We immediately began touring and walking in historic Vienna.
We stayed two nights in Vienna.
Our meeting place when we had free time was in front of St. Stephens Cathedral.

I love European walking/shopping streets.
We visited Schonbrunn Palace on Sunday morning.
The gardens behind the Palace were massive and lovely.

There was an Easter Fair on the grounds of the Palace.
Lots of foods and Easter crafts were for sale.
Back in Vienna for Sunday afternoon free time.
Most of the shops were closed except for souvenir shops.
Two days in Vienna gave us time to
explore a few coffee houses for both coffee and tea.
Y'all know I'm not a coffee drinker, but I had two
different kinds of Viennese Coffee during the two days we were there.
Althaus Tea is a supplier to many cafes and bars in Europe.
I enjoyed Darjeeling on Saturday and Sunday afternoons in Vienna.
Taking coffee and tea breaks in the cafes became a favorite
activity for the adults during the free time.
A little window shopping on Sunday afternoon in Vienna

Swarovski displays were plentiful in Austria.
Note: I am slowly making my way through 650 photos taken on
four different devices.  I've given up on Austin's many
iPhone videos and photos.  Besides, he doesn't
want to share them all, anyway. :-)

What a wonderful trip! Sorting out the photos will be a big job but an enjoyable one. We look forward to seeing more of them!

Linda, you do the neatest things.

I have travel fever so badly right now- I think it is b/c of the long winter and a slow start to springtime around here.

You have inspired me. Hubs and I decided after August - younger daughter's wedding- we're "gettin outta Dodge!" Have a lovely week.

I love that floral display window! This sounds like such a fun trip, and I'm impressed that Austin's high school has a Travel Club. (Wish I belonged to it!)
