Welcome Reception for the Sister City Visit

Our family has hosted the Welcome Reception for the
Sister City Delegation from Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan
for several years. The delegation visits Berea, Richmond and Madison County, KY
in May for a week.
In turn the Madison County delegation visits Japan in October.
The Sister City relationship has been happening for over 25 years.
Yes, that's Derby Pie for dessert.

There were 40 guests for the event, including 15 delegates from Japan.
Below: Austin, the head of the delegation, and Glenn.
The week is full of fun activities as we all become better acquainted!

Absolutely perfect---all the lovely colours and tastes, so beautifully presented. This is so welcoming and delicious---no wonder they keep coming back every year, with hospitality and friendship like this!

What is that gorgeous shrimp thing---with the dip? in the center?
And in the big chafing dish?

What a long standing tradition of celebrating friendship across the miles.
